I played games with my undergrad philosophy papers in the 1970s. Once I put "the" at the end of one line and started the next line with "the" to prove to the professor that we see what we expect to see, and miss what we are not expecting. I pointed out what I'd done, but not until a paragraph or two later. Yes, I got an A.

That's awesome! That reminds me of a study I read about in which a large sample of doctors were given a chest x-ray and asked to spot what was wrong with it. Many noticed very tiny things, but almost none noticed that the chest was missing a collar bone.

Funny! When I turned in that philosophy paper, I had to type and re-type and RE-type the paper because it was in the days before computers and the ease of correcting and moving words around on a screen before settling on what you want. It was real work making the lines come out exactly the way I wanted them.
